To anyone interested in understanding lab work and other tests,

I wanted to share a web site that I joined, called " Lab Tests Online. " I

joined several years ago, because it provides an excellent discussion of

tests, etc. At the time I joined, they did not have anything about

Pancreatitis on their board. I have been corresponding with them to discuss

the need to address this disease and associated tests. I was delighted when I

received the November newsletter and read that they have now incorporated

information about diseases of the pancreas. At the time I began this I sent

out a post asking people to go to their site and when they ask if you would

like to make a comment, to do so requesting information about Pancreatitis,

etc. We can make a difference. Together. One day at a time. Achieving one

goal at a time. Our Voice was heard. I encourage you to visit the site. And,

to please take a moment, and make a comment thanking them for taking a

proactive role, listening to the Voice of those whose lives are affected by

Pancreatitis, and providing educational information on this silent disease

and associated tests.

Here is the email I received:

Karyn,

I bookmarked this site many months ago when you first

recommended it and have visited there several times when I had

questions about any lab results. It is simply fantastic news to

see that they took the requests for comments seriously and have

now included all this new information about pancreatitis on their

website.

Also of note was a mention in their description of chronic

pancreatitis was that amylase levels do not show an increase

once the disease is more progressed! Now if we could only get

those ER doctors and other doubting physicians to take note of

this fact, we'd be one step ahead.

Thanks again, for your perseverence and dedication to seeking

continuing education about pancreatitis on all medical

resources.

With hope and prayers,
