Guest guest
Actually, there is no known animal model of cystic fibrosis in nature, save for us, of course! I got my own deltf508 mutation (one) from a great-great-great grand father who had moved from the Netherlands (where many Sephardic jews fled after the Inquisition) and married an Irish wife. My other mutation (we finally have this straight!) is R1162X which we " wandering jews " acquired somewhere also. Despite the mediterranean and North African origin of all of my ancestors, these mutations and one other which is not in our immediate family keep sho wing up. So, I guess that is in part our " Irish Luck. " However, as a dog fan, I do enjoy contemplating the number of Irish origin breeds of dog that you might yet acquire---I guess this proves that the " Blarney " came along with the mutation! Love to you and all of those kids! n
