Guest guest
, I had my whipple at the end of January. Two weeks ago I got back from vacation for the first time in ages. I have not had any pain and have not need pain meds since March. I start back to work on Monday. I was Blessed enough to be able to have the surgery at s Hopkins by a doctor Yoe. He's an expert in pancreatic surgery. They do a procedure that doesn't remove the any of the stomach. If you eventually need surgery do your best to find one of the surgeons around the country that really knows what they are doing. My GI doc at Jefferson hospital in Philadelphia recomended against having the surgery there. They have great surgeons, but there are docs that can do a much less invasive procedure. Hang in there ther is hope. I statrted with acute attacks and moved to chronic. i was sick for about 6 years. I'll keep you in my prayers. If you have any other questions you can e-mail me directly because I don't always check the board. Muspub751@... just put your first name in the subject. Good luck. Can you share with us what you'll be doing - I'm just curiuos if you'll be back to teaching or not, and some details. This sounds like a pretty major miracle to me, after the trials that you had to undergo. Congratulations again - I'm so happy for you! Fill us in!
