Guest guest
Dear Sue, YES IT DOES make sense...to much! Our son had to be pulled out of pre school because we couldn't keep him out of stuff that he was sensitive/allergic to. They where always cheating his diet...not listening to us....and even the play doe made him sick (gluten allergy to wheat and such). plus God knows what else was going on there! He has multiple sensitivities, just like me his mother....Just the smell of some things can make us sick and feel bad....the gluten in my mascara made my eyes puff up! Plus you are right...these youngsters can't keep there fingers out of their mouths.......I am an adult and I cant!.......if anything is on them (not just gluten) that we have a problems with....yes we will accidentally ingest it! Some say: how can such a tiny amount cause a problem....LIVE WITH ONE OF OUR KIDS AND FIND OUT!.....I want to tell them! The immune system is an interesting thing! Think of peanut allergy and how little it takes for those with this problem. WE know don't we and it doesn't have to be an anaphylactic reaction either! Think of home schooling.....it is better in a lot of ways...a little more challenging...but better when it comes to their health! Some states have home school support offered that is backed up by accredited teachers and even give a computer and supplies, paid by are tax dollar! Look into it. In Colorado it is called " The Virtual Academy " ....He is doing so much better at home.....plus we don't have to deal with the " germ factory " any more....kids always sick in the school system making one another ill and spreading those bugs.......we do other things to socialize! In time as we heal, according to Elaine a lot of these problems will vanish as our intestines and immune system heal (I once read that 80% of our immune system is connected to our intestines!).....we HOPE and have faith! Antoinette (week 3+ entire family/List of family problems: Celiac Disease, Malabsorption Problems, ASD,ADD,ADHD, multiple sensitivities and allergies and many other neurological problems....Healing and getting better with SCDIET!) reaction to shaving cream BJ came home crying yesterday, and difficult to get off the bus. He also smelled like shaving cream. We had the same problem last week when he came home smelling like shaving cream. He was " off " for a while, and then had a manic (laughing) episode during dinner. I have benn able to trace the bi-polar episodes to certain foods, but they seem to be pretty good about not letting him eat illegals at school. (It seems every child in the classroom is on a different special diet.) I looked at my older son's shaving cream, and noticed it contained a sugar alcohol and I wonder if this would cause a problem if he's absorbing it through the skin. He also has a very bad habit of putting his hands in his mouth without realizing he's doing it, so he may have injested a little bit. (sensory issues) I've sent a note to the school and asked them to send me the brand name so I can check it out. Does this make sense to anyone else? I got him into a decent program about 40 minutes away. He's making progress and I'm content. I have homeschooled some of my other kids, including my autistic son, who passed the GED on the first try and is now at the local community college for his first semester. Homeschooling is great, and I recommend it to many people. But it's also nice to have a few quiet hours in the day. I cook for a family of 7, and only BJ and I are on the diet. The others turn up their noses a lot, but SCD sloppy joe's made with 3 pounds of hamburger are gone in one sitting!!!
