Dori,

What , they charge for shampoo!!!! We all get a bottle of it to use,

soap, snacks for the kids, plus bread, spreads and drinks for the

adults. I cant believe they charge for all this elsewhere.

hospital tips

If you know in advance, that the little one (or bigger one) is to be

hospitalized, check with them for info on in building parents lounges,

laundry facilities, etc. They are often also near facilities and

grocery stores.

Also bring children's shampoo/soap. The hospitals have it, but may

charge a ridiculous sum for it on the bill. Six dollars for four ounces

of baby shampoo???

Hospitals charge for EVERYTHING. I asked for a plastic bag that I

could take some dirty clothes home in. They charged $3 for a small

plastic bag, similar to the ones from the grocery store. It's

terrible.

All I can say is THANK GOODNESS FOR INSURANCE!! Ashton has used up

over $500,000 worth of insurance in his 19 months. We haven't paid

a penny except for our premiums which is about $150 a month I

think. And luckily, there is no lifetime limit.

--mom to Ashton (10 weeks in NICU plus 2 other

hospitalizations and multiple other dr visits)
