Guest guest
I've been doing my share of research! Ben, 16, has been ill with a low grade fever of around 100 degrees, later developed big time runny nose, soar throat, queasy stomach. Blood tests came out normal, a good thing. He is now, after about 13 days of this, looking much better, though still dripping a bit. The fever is gone. This started about a day after the diet began. I now am convinced this was die off. Glad THAT is over! We are hoping to see some cool changes...we will see. I consider him to have pretty much recovered from Asperger's after 4-5 years of GF CF, fish oil and some chelation. But still had some glitches. Thanks for all the support--I was stressed. Now, starting yogurt shortly--I can't wait. So I come across kefir, from Healing Crow, then to Dom's site. There is a lot to read there. Also, Healing Crow answered some good questions I had on yogurt vs. probiotics. He is a biochemist as well, there is no doubt that yogurt is better than probiotics. It was good to read. There is also info there on the h.pylori/yogurt connection. Is there a reason we don't promote kefir? It appears to be much easier to make--just plop the grains in milk and let it sit for 24 hours. Strain, and there it is. It may even have more healthful bacteria, according to Healing Crow. It is not as versatile, by far. Not that I can tell anyway. But lots of people love it. The only kind I had was the sweet stuff from the store years ago. But I think I could make this tasty with a bit of honey etc.. Any thoughts on this?? Thanks!
