Guest guest
Hi Group, A lot of members have posted questions about how to get their insurance companies to pay for their rosacea treatments. I belong to a bottom-of-the-barrel HMO which repeatedly denied my doctor's request to treat me with accutane. They insisted that accutane was only used to treat severe, cystic acne. After paying out-of-pocket for four months, I gathered up all the literature I've collected and xeroxed sections of Dr. Nase's book on rhinophyma & accutane. My doctor then wrote a letter to the insurance company and included my research. Surprisingly, the insurance company has agreed to pay for my accutane. Now, I have to pressure them to pay for my V-Beams. The bottom line is: ask your doctor to write a letter for you, include your research and make sure the letter goes to the right person. It just may work. Good luck to you all, Heidi P.S. I am also thinking of petitioning Bill Clinton & Ted Kennedy to help us out on this as they both clearly have rhinophyma. cea is not just a cosmetic disease -- it's a chronic, life-long disorder that can severely impair one's quality of life.
