TOBI, Pulmozyme, and the Vest

Hi All,

I have been seeing some posts about these three things so I thought I

would share what our Cf clinic says about this.

Elisabeth has been on Tobi for about 8 months and has just started

Pulmozyme this month. She has used the Vest since age 2- she is 4

now. This is what the doctors told us: She normally has 2 vest

treatments a day- morning and evening- she is allowed to do her

Albuterol and her Pulmozyme( 1 time a day) simultaneously with the

Vest.

BUTTTT when she is on her 28 cycle of Tobi things are changed-

She has to have 3 treatments a day-

Morning- Vest along with aluterol- TOBI when the vest is DONE not

during

Afternoon- Vest Along with albuterol and then Pulmozyme- both can be

done with the vest

Evening- Vest along with albuterol- TOBI when the vest is DONE not

during

SOOOOO what we are told is TOBI is to be done- AFTER a vest

treatment not during

ANDDDDD Pulmozyme and TOBI are NEVER to be given in the same

treatment.

This is what our CF center says. ; ) Arkansas Children's Hospital-

Little Rock, AR : ) It is time consuming I agree!!! but if it keeps

Elisabeth healthy then its worth it : )
