Guest guest
Hey everyone! My kids have been on SCD since December 1, 2005. I began SCD with them in December but did not stick with it. Trasitioning three kids to the diet along with three separate, lengthy and new supplemental protocols (given by nutritionist and DAN) along with implementing a chelation schedule for our infant, I did not have it in me to fight my depression and do SCD personally. That has changed now. My daughter (5 years) has been very distressed about my gastrointestinal problems and lack of healthy eating habits. Her concerns are valid, and I don't want to send a mixed message, so I have decided to join my troops again. However, I want to get all my " ducks in a row " before I embark on this journey again. My hope is that if I thoroughly prepare before I begin, I will be successful this time. I am anticipating constipation since I already struggle with this and it certainly was an issue during my false start in December. So, I have a few questions concerning Elaine's protocol. 1) Where can I find legal prune nectar? Where can I find legal prune juice? 2) What is a legal tea that I can drink with breakfast? My kids are about to graduate to phase 2 and I had a question concerning that. 1) How do ya'll prepare the zucchini? I have peeled, boiled, and pureed it for all my kids (they are still eating pureed foods for the most part since I get the best stools this way). As you can imagine, this is frightfully gross. It is quite a job getting them to eat it this way. Is there another way to prepare the zucchini that is permissable? 2) Do the bananas have to be practically brown all over before they are eaten? I tried to introduce raw bananas. Everyone got bad diarrhea. The bananas were almost completely brown with black speckles. However, there was still a tiny bit (ever so slight) of green at the tips. Is there a way to get the bananas to ripen evenly? Thanks for any input! This board has been very helpful. Ya'll are probably the only reason that I have able make my children stick with this. I would be very confused and lost without this group.
