Guest guest
if you go by the categories the medical stuff outlines, then i was born with rosacea!! " pre-rosacea " is ususally described as a strong tendency to flush or blush. i have done that for as long as i can remember. if i was out playing, my cheeks were bright red, when i was in grade school and had to answer a question, or god forbid, say somehting in front of the class, my face would be a red as a beet and it wasn't because of embarrassment. and it would stay red a long long time. i never had a speck of acne though. i've had very sensitve skin for as long as i can remember too. perfect one day, red & blotchy the next. if i cried, blotchy and red for hours. now i am 41 and though i don't blush too often, i flush at certain triggers and have blood vessel damage in my cheeks. several years ago i went through a stressful period and took alot of hot baths. this seems to have taken me past " pre-rosacea " , although i still don't have acne...boy, if i could take back that time! i don't think all flushers and blushers get rosacea - or at least the problems that constant flushing and blushing can cause for some of us. i have a friend who is in her late 60's now and has and always had bright red cheeks. if you are in a certain light spider veins are noticeable, but her skin, which tends to be oily, is very smooth and soft looking and on her it just looks like a healthy glow. one survey i would like to see one day is one that might determine common personality traits amongst rosaceans. i feel sure that we all may tend to react emotionally in like ways. one of the best descriptions of the typical rosacean child/adult is on the bass & boney site. when i read it, it may as well have been me as a child! another thing, as a kid i used to get cankor sores alot and my dad alwasy told me they were " growing pains " (!) but i realized as an adult that it was probably the toothpaste we used. i can use only a couple brands without problems even now. weird. interesting topic though. carrie --- Moya Stone agathasprose@...> wrote: > Yes, I started having R symptoms (mostly > flushing) > when I turned 30.
