Guest guest
Cheri, Thanks for writing. The ivs alone don't bother me...ron and I usually do a rotating schedule anyway, so we can take turns sleeping and that part of the sterility is easy. Or maybe I am just paranoid about their ports. But I always worry about accessing their ports (for new parents out there, that means cleaning the area, inserting the needle, flushing, heplocking, and then putting on an appropriate dressing) and always felt more comfortable with the extra set of hands. You have to set out the supplies just right to do it alone...sterile field, needle needs to already be attached to tubing with saline before you go to clean with betadine, etc and all of it, including the port needle and the dressing stuff. Anyway, it went without a hitch but I have to admit I was worried. oh, and thank goodness my hubby does the cooking!!!!!! (he is sahd) thanks again for writing Jen > Hi Jen, > Good job on the getting the ivs done alone or almost alone! It is hard, I > know!
