Cheri,

Thanks for writing. The ivs alone don't bother me...ron and I

usually do a rotating schedule anyway, so we can take turns sleeping

and that part of the sterility is easy. Or maybe I am just paranoid

about their ports. But I always worry about accessing their ports

(for new parents out there, that means cleaning the area, inserting

the needle, flushing, heplocking, and then putting on an appropriate

dressing) and always felt more comfortable with the extra set of

hands. You have to set out the supplies just right to do it

alone...sterile field, needle needs to already be attached to tubing

with saline before you go to clean with betadine, etc and all of it,

including the port needle and the dressing stuff. Anyway, it went

without a hitch but I have to admit I was worried.

oh, and thank goodness my hubby does the cooking!!!!!! (he is sahd)
