Guest guest
I found out a had rosacea about three years ago. During my annual physical I asked my family doctor if the redness on my cheeks was just part of getting older. When she looked closely she saw the pustules and prescribed metrogel. I've been using that ever since. Like others, I'd been worried the red cheeks could be a symptom of lupus. Also, I could not understand why I suddenly was getting red patches and little pimples on my forehead one day, then one my cheek the next. Last year, I began to look for more gentle cleansers and moisturizers. Unlike some people here, my skin is dry not oily. I've tried Eucerin, Avon, and Aveeno. I'm using the Aveeno gentle cleansing lotion and the day brightening moisturizer. I notice that the moisturizer does sting a little and that my face gets a little red just from the washing and generally fussing with it. I'm still looking for a more moisturing cream for overnight. Mondays seem to be my worst days -- because I get out of my usual schedule over the weekend and don't use the metrogel. I was surprised to read spicy foods cause flushing. I know they make my nose run. But I did check it out the night I made some spicy chili. Although I didn't feel the heat on my face, my cheeks were bright red. Looking forward to learning more, Jan B.
