Missy, honestly...try a tiny sip of soda. I did and it tasted so bad it

cured me from trying it again. I used to drink 4-5 diet Coke's a day. Now,

none, and I don't crave them at all anymore. I used to hate Gatorade, but

now I love it (except the lemon-lime flavor). Did you know they now have

Strawberry Kiwi Gatorade? It's fabulous!

Congrats on the weight loss!

~Amy.

post-op update

Hey, guys!!

Me again, checking in. Ten days post-op now, eleven

pounds down. Trying not to weigh every day... but the

scales call to me from the bathroom. I have decided

to go home today and throw them away. I have been

taking my Carafate and Prevacid religiously... but the

Citrucel...I get it down when I can. It always makes

a yucky paste that is absolutely unbearable! I have

been testing the waters.... and I know I'm not

supposed to.. but have been very careful. Whatever I

eat, I only take one bite at first to see if I can

tolerate it. Haven't really eaten any meat yet.

Thought I wanted a piece of bread once, but when it

hit the back of my throat, I quickly changed my mind

and promised God if he would let me bring it back up,

I wouldn't try that again anytime soon. :-) Anyway,

mashed potatoes, grits, macaroni and cheese tolerated

well ( I was starving!). No nausea (knock on wood),

but have had some episodes of diarrhea! Still sipping

the gatorade and the juice. Haven't had any sodas -

and boy oh boy is it ever killing me! Just thought

I'd check in.

Missy
