Hi ,

You're right, Xanthan Gum is technically not SCD-legal. Two years ago,

Elaine Gottschall personally approved our Ultra Sensitive Formula vitamins

and minerals for use on the SCD, despite the tiny amount of xanthan gum in

them. She felt it was an acceptable allowance to make, so kids would have

a good liquid vitamin available. To make a liquid formula, you have to use

something so the ingredients will stay evenly dispersed. Pretty much all

the things used for this are 'gummy' types of substances. We found

xanthan gum to be the best of several alternatives, none of which would

have been SCD-legal.

The reason that our other formulas are not SCD-approved is because there

are herbs in them. Part of the intent of these particular herbs is to help

the same issues SCD addresses, and we find them helpful. As you probably

know, however, all herbs are officially illegal on SCD.

Hope this clears things up for you.
