Can someone tell me more about Anti-Inflammatories? I am currently

on heavy narcotics, but I heard someone else mention them. Are they

easier on the system than narcotics(i.e. constipation and other side

effects)? Would you switch?

Any help is appreciated.

Ken,

I don't know much about the antiinflammatories, just that my

doctors had wanted to try me out on them before the

narcotics and couldn't because they thin the blood and I'm

already one blood thinners. As to how well they work, I

don't know. I was on Vicodin for awhile, which has

anti-inflammatories in it and it worked to stop the pain,

but it caused my blood to thin way too much and caused me

horrible nightmares. I also know there are some new

anti-inflammatories out there, Celebrex is one of them I

believe. You might want to discuss them with your GI or pain

management doctor (whoever handles your pain meds).
