Photoderm in the UK?

I am currently looking for somewhere to get photoderm treatment in

the UK The only place I have found so far is in Harley Street,

London and is called The Private Clinic. They offer a treatment

called Vasculight, which I am hoping is the same as photoderm.

However even after ordering the information pack I'm still not sure.

I will be booking a free consultation to find out more next week but

I would really appreciate some opinions on the site below.

http://www.rosaceaclinic.co.uk/thebreakthrough.htm

The rest of this email isn't important but I thought I would include

a bit about how my rosacea developed.

I am 25 years old and have had " mild acne " since I was about 14. I

have seen doctors and dermatologists ever since and have had all the

usual treatments including a course of roacutane. When I was younger

I thought sun bathing, fresh air and exercise were the keys to

improving my skin. This resulted in me spending every spare second

of my day doing these things. My life was non-existent during this

time but the idea was to start living again when the acne cleared

up. However what I didn't realise at the time was the damage I was

doing to my already sensitive skin. The soaps, topical lotions, sun

bathing, fresh air etc have I believe directly or indirectly led to

my cea.

Anyway, until recently I had just about given up hope. Then I stopped

using soap and started moisturising every night with Aveeno cream and

Vaseline. As a result my skin is now much healthier, less flaky and

less sensitive. It is still very red and I flush quite often but I

am hoping that photoderm might help with this. I still get depressed

as well but compared to the last six or seven years I am a much

happier person.

I will keep reading the emails posted on this site because I find

them very informative and interesting.

Thanks for the help.

Stuart, sometime last week I posted an abstract on phototherapy on

rosacea from a university in Wales, I believe. Contacting the authors

of the study may give you leads elsewhere in the UK, since

academicians, more often than not, network with others highly

regarded in the field.

Good luck.
