Angie, Yes, I and some others have that kind of disabling pain with rosacea. I've had days of rocking back and forth in a dark, closed room feeling like the tiny amount of light was burning and blinding me like acid would. I've often had to wear a mask or scarf over my face unless I am in a totally dark room. I have no advice except to say you're not alone. Narcotic pain meds help take the edge off but don't really stop the pain. My pain was worst for about a year after I was prescribed 800 mg Plaquenil per day to reduce my facial inflammation. The pain and burning have decreased slightly over 18 months but I still take pain meds, avoid light (not just sun) and wear a wide-brimmed hat at all times. Good luck and hope your days ahead get better.
