Guest guest
We are about to start week 4 of the diet. I have been waiting on nut milk because btvc says to wait untill 6 months in (I think) to start it. But then the pecan bread guidelines say to introduce it pretty early. We are eating baked goods with nut flour w/o problems. Could we go ahead and make some nut milk and try it now? I only really want it for my coffee and possibly my tea. I just drink one cup a day but I'm getting tired of it black. Also has anyone made cashew milk? Would that be richer than almond milk? I have read recipes in the past that called for making whipped cream out of cashews so I was wondering... Thanks for any ideas. Patty scd 4 weeks tomorrow! Guest guest
Patty, The concern is too high consumption of nut products. For kids that eat quite a few nut based products, then drink nut milk too, it is just too many nuts. But you are wanting to put it in your coffee. I don't see any problem with that. Just make sure you strain it good so there are no tiny pieces of nut left in it. I think hazelnuts might make a nice flavor for coffee since I have seen hazelnut as a flavored coffee before. Coconut milk might be nice as well. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
