I have recently been diagnosed with cea. I have turned the

internet inside out looking at the huge amounts of info. I have

looked at photo after photo. What I have doesn't look, to me, like

cea. I have the almost maroon coloration, but it is under my

eyes, not on my cheeks or nose. Also it's under my nose, and on my

chin. The skin is scaly and it itches and burns. The doctor gave me

tetracycline and metrogel with alegra. It isn't working. My eyelid

is so swollen that I can barely see out of my right eye. Driving is

becoming a danger to others. My doctor isn't listening to me. She

is insistant that this is cea. Also, how long does it take to

show up? I started with a really really bad case of chapped lips

last Dec. It caused my lips, and about 1/4 - 1/2 inch all around my

mouth to crack, bleed, and peel for over a month. I put carmex on it

to relieve the dryness. That caused what looked like a burn where

ever I put it. I went to the doctor and he said that I should stop

using the carmex (duh!). I stopped and the dryness and cracking came

back. I also developed a small oval rash under my right eye. It got

bigger and bigger. It would go away for awhile then come back

worse. It was scaly and itchy, just like what was around my mouth

and under my nose. I also felt like I had an eyelash or something in

my eye. I went back to the doctor in Feb. She said that it was

Seborheic Dermatitis. She gave me steriods to clear it up. 3 days

later I was clear skinned and happy. I saw her a month later when

the scalliness started to come back. She gave me another cream to

use on my cheeks and more steriods to use on the " T " zone. I used

them for 2 weeks, daily, as directed, then went to only on the

weekends. The rash got so bad I was waking up in the morning with

bloody scratches on my face from scratching in my sleep. I went back

again, to the doctor. She brought in a dermatoligist and another

doctor and 2-3 people passing in the hall! The all said it is

cea. She gave me the drugs above. I have been using the meds,

and following the regime faithfully. I now have the rash on both

eyelids, under each eye (triangle shape with the point on the bottom)

and around my mouth and nose.

Is this cea? What the heck can I do about it? I am going nuts

with the itching. (there are times when I want to claw my face

off!) I work in sales and deal with alot of customers daily. I have

tried green based make-up to hide the redness. It works for one day,

then I break out big time.

Can anyone help me? I feel like I'm loosing my mind.
