Guest guest
Flo, Thanks for the info about BCBS federal. I looked on the internet and found in section 7, pg. 42 that they exclude all weight loss treatments, EXCEPT gastric bypass and stapling. Is this what you were speaking about? If so, why would the insurance company not approve my pre-certification. They say they will review it AFTER the surgery. I'm afraid if I don't have it in writing before, they will find some loophole and not pay. Please write back how your surgery was paid. Guest guest
Hi, same exact letter as I got. The reason is it is specifically in your contract that they pay and they won't approve a particular procedure, any procedure, but if you have it, they'll pay...they have to. I have had no trouble with them paying so far but they've only gotten two bills thus far. That letter is so poorly worded that it's confusing. When I called by phone, a nasty woman told me it was not covered and I knew it was. Several on the list had it done and it covered. If you have Standard Option, code 105, regular old federal bcbs it will pay. Your reply should have been from NC BCBS. They actually process any federal claims because it's being done in NC. flo > ** Original Subject: RE: Flo-Are you there? > ** > ** Original Date: Sat, 10 Jun 2000 22:31:39 -0400 > ** Original Message follows... > > Flo, > Thanks for the info about BCBS federal.
