Guest guest
Got some excellent news from my GI in B'ham whom I thought I was only going to see one last time before going to a GI at Vanderbilt in Nashville. My GI is sending me to a different surgeon who does pancreas/bile duct surgery in Birmingham. This surgeon did surgery on my GI's wife. He said this guy has as much or more experience as the hepatobiliary guys at Vandy and UAB. His name is Dr. Kitchens and he operates at Montclair hospital (my very fav hospital). My GI is even more insistent that I have adhesions (maybe multiple) which are sometimes blocking things and causing the liver/panc to become irritated and other times only causing horrible pain/nausea/vomiting. He promised me that this surgeon will be able to remove the adhesions and I will be better. Of course, there is the possibility that new adhesions will form and cause probs again in the future. However, as my GI says, 'you cannot continue to live the way you have been living since July. the adhesions have got to be removed.' The surgeon's office is to call me tomorrow to set up an appt.
