Alert ... Alert!!! Horrible News!!

Hello Everybody ~

I just heard some horrible news and wanted to post right away to see if

anyone knows the details. Apparently, one of Dr. R.'s patients died on May

15th, just a few days after her MGB surgery. Problems with leakage or

something. Does anyone know what happened or who it was? I've made a lot of

friends on this list while preparing for surgery. Needless to say, I was VERY

UPSET!!

I live in Columbia, SC and also learned that another MGB patient is at McLeod

Regional Hospital in Florence nearby with major complications. Her name is

and she had her surgery on May 10th. Has anyone been in contact with

her? From what I was told, she has had extreme nausea and vomiting from day

one. Dr. R. reversed the surgery last week but the problems persist. Now

she's in the hospital in Florence being fed by IV. She is in terrible shape.

How common is this?

I must say all of this has frightened me to death!! I was feeling so hopeful

about the surgery and the opportunity to finally change my life. However, the

last thing I want to do is further complicate my situation with major health

risks. Can anyone shed any light on all of this before I have a nervous

breakdown?
