Guest guest
Hi guys, I want to thank Carol for sharing her story. People think about obesity as a problem of its own but seldom realize that it is an expression of other things going on in our bodies and sometimes the last cry for help before we get really sick. Some comments on obesity: Obesity or inability to gain or lose weight is most of the time one of the expressions of malnutrition and toxicity, which can cause, promote or worsen any intestinal problem, including disbiosis. People are often *obese and malnourished*. It is another vicious cycle. The body loses the ability to absorb nutrients well (we all know about that) and at the same time it is working very hard to meet the metabolic demands of the body, which is very hard to do when there is excess fat, particularly in the presence of malnutrition. The body gets in an emergency state where, being unable to absorb and metabolize nutrients properly, fats accumulate, paritcularly centripetally (in the trunk) and this hinders digestion and continues the bad cycle. The body accentuates the stress response and hormones go crazy. The endocrine system stimulates the release of stress hormones (mainly from adrenal glands), that are messengers for metabolic processes in the body. These cycles promote weight gain, worsen the ability to process nutrients and you keep gaining weight because they are not absorbing nutrients appropriately and they develop metabolic imbalances which worsen the problem. ... Basically, we are all somewhat toxic, and our tea kettle pours over in different ways depending on our genetics and particular tolerance and excretion ability. The same as our kids. Obesity is one of the expressions of toxicity. There is a site that is very good about endocrine disruptors. It talks about much more than obesity.
