I just got back from christmas shopping with my husband and this same

subject has bothered me all day. I don't have any long term answers

but what I was thinking about in this particular instance might help

Brittnay out a little. If Tammy is willing to post the address of the

school Brittnay attends, the rest of us parents could send a short

letter explaining what it's like to be a parent of a child with a

chronic illness. How our children strive for a normal life. How I

children would love to be healthy. And how it makes them feel when

they are made to feel different by the ignorance of others. I believe

we could teach a lesson of compassion. This is a learning institution

afeter all isn't it. We could offer suggestions as to how awards

should be given without obviously excluding children that have health

issues. Make them understand that these children already pay dearly

for their illness.

Tammy, we all feel for you and Brittnay. I hope Lenora is able to

help in some way.
