Guest guest
I have sensitive OR and last Summer I developed red, itchy, swollen eyelids which eventually split and sent me to casualty a couple of times. I presumed this was the eye shadow but it was still happening to a degree and I couldn't put my finger on it. I have had Ocular itching inside my eyes and since switching to a mascara with lower oil content (not a volumizing formula loaded with oil) and stopping using Jnae Iredale loose powder on my cheek area, I have seen some improvement, though they are far from perfect. Anyway, for the last month or so I have noticed that I have been able to use the eye shadow I suspected was the cause of my visits to casualty last year. this has been a surprise to me. Yesterday, however, I noticed that my lids were swelling, itching on the lids and that today they feel quite sore along the top rims and upwards of the upper lids from scratching. What has cause this I cursed?? Then I realized that up until yesterday the weather here had been wintry and dull. yesterday however, it was a little tiny bit sunny and I realised my itching and pain on the upper lids started on a trip to town when I had walked around for an hour or so and then drove the car. They are still sore and a bit itchy today so the effects are still with me. Obviously I do not want a whole summer like this. My face is enough of a problem without my eyes being that problematic too. Now I think I have stumbled on the possibility that my eyes, especially my upper lids are incredibly sun sensitive. I do not know really how to protect them because I do not know if eye shadow is a complicating factor in my reactions or whether it has actually been protecting them somewhat in my worst episodes last year (see above - hospital etc)Equally though, if my lids were bare they are so sensitive I think they would get very sore anyway. i think JI eye shadow causes me problems so I have to dismiss this option as a form of protection against the sun . Oil cause my eyes terrific problems so I cannot consider sunblock with any oiliness in it. Any ideas? I am toying with the idea of sunglasses from March / April onwards full-time (but would feel v. self-conscious and poser-like if I got a job in sunglasses all the time). Does any one know if the paler tinted sunglasses also offer FULL UV protection?? I especially do not like really dark sunglasses because I feel like a show off and they'd look silly indoors if I was sat in an office by a sunny window. This is why I want glasses which are v. pale brown but will give total block from the sun? Does any one know if such sunglasses exist and if so, whether they would offer full UV protection from the sun like their much darker counterparts??? Any other suggestions other than sunglasses and a hat? PLEASE, PLEASE help..I couldn't stand rips to the doctor in hospital like last year!!! THANK YOU I would really appreciate help from any one with similar experiences who has come across solutions as my skin is pretty troublesome right now and I find it difficult to cope with both like this! THANKS AGAIN IN ADVANCE AND IN HOPEFUL ANTICIPATION!! SHELLEYGet more from the Web. Guest guest
Hi, I received this, but it was meant for the group. Matija Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2002 12:32:59 -0000 | Block Address | Add to Address Book A UV Filter can be applied without tinting. It will block out the UVA and UVB light. The tinting is cosmetic, and makes people feel like they are blocking the sun (and glare, but you can get glare- resistant lenses). I've heard that the brown tinting is actually not good for you. It causes your eyes to dilate, allowing more light in. If your glasses are not wraparound, you're still getting light in from the sides and top, so if the pupils are dilated, there is more light hitting them. On the other hand, no tinting will cause your pupils to constrict and yellow tinting will keep your pupils the same. I like to have a pair of prescription sunglasses to change into when I'm outside.
