This is very cheap and usually a good household item to have around. As far as this being healthy, I don't know. However, I think one dollar is quite a bit when it means having to decide between an inexpensive loaf of bread or toothpaste. Its really not about just one dollar, my families often live in remote areas. In fact, the majority of my families live on an average 15 miles from the closest business district. So, what that they are faced with is considering gas costs, their car breaking down, the cost of the toothpaste, and possible even being cited by the local Sheriff's office for a disrepaired car (cracked windshield, turnsignal not working) just to buy a tube of toothpaste. When farmworker families consider all these things, and they nearly often do, it quite easy not to buy toothpaste. What I want to do is give my families some choices if they can't buy toothpaste. I know there are other alternatives out there and I have received some advice from some great people in this group. Again thank you for your concern about this issue and I hope all of us can find ways to lessen the suffering of migrant farmworker families. Guest guest Posted August 4, 2003 Report Share Posted August 4, 2003 You are so right about the travel being expensive as for as being cited for those violation.That would make it spendy,Maybe a solution would be for the farm owners to furnish tooth paste but there again that is not going to happen that would be like asking then to quit poisoning us with their harsh chemical while we are working in their fields.Sorry just a little anomosity and dislike for the way we are all used .You know I have been told that it is our fault we wanted a job and they gave us one and now we want to complain about it imagine that.
