Photoderm vs. VBeam

The VBeam's main advantage over photoderm is that its pulses are

extra long and more gentle on the skin and vessels. The problem is

that it only uses one main wavelength, 595 nanometers, which is a good

depth for treating facial telangiectasia (spider veins) and superficial

redness, but not a great depth for the deeper flush vessels that make

this condition so hard to defeat. Also, the cooling chip that is used

on the laser is believed to constrict many vessels and " hide " them from

the laser, leading to less than optimal results. The general consensus

on the Vbeam though is that it is great on the spider veins, pretty

good on redness and not great on the flushing. From what I've

researched and been told, in the hands of an experienced doctor,

photoderm usually outdoes the Vbeam.

Hello , , Group:

I've been wondering which treatment I would be

the best candidate for. My rosacea is many spider

veins on both cheeks with local or residual

redness. If I flush (my cheeks blush sometimes;

they have since I was a kid) then my cheeks get

spots of color around these spider veins

sometimes with small red bumps. Other people

sometimes think I have a rash...

I feel convinced that if I could just get rid of

these damaged blood vessels I would solve most,

if not all of my problem!

I don't have that deep red face or permanent

flush that some of us have.

Do you think the v-beam sounds like the best way

to go for me?

I would be interested in some opinions. Do you

think it would make sense to try v-beam as

evidently it is the gentler approach? and then

think about photoderm if the effects weren't

satisfactory?

thanks for any comments, advice,
