Guest guest
I read your comment about fluoride's effect on you, so I checked the back of a new tube of toothpaste I had just purchased for whitening my teeth. There it was, active ingredient--sodium fluoride .15%. Maybe that's why I woke up with a sore inside my cheek this morning. But here is what I want you all to know. There's a warning on the tube that states, " If you accidently swallow more than used for brushing, seek professional help or contact a poison control center immediately. " Poison control ? Toothpaste ? I don't plan on making a meal of toothpaste, but if you have little kids in your house, they might. If you have such a product, please put it up high out of reach or toss it and get a non-poisonous formula. Poisonous Toothpaste ? What next. Good luck. Dennis Weird Triggers I find it fascinating that we all have so many different, odd types of situations that can trigger a flush. Oh sure, there's the usual: red wine, spicy food (and many other food sensitivities), hot drinks, overexercise, and too much sunlight --- but what about fluoride treatments at the dentist's office? Last time I had a fluoride treatment, I lit up practically instantaneously
Guest guest
Dennis, Most toothpastes contain flouride, as does the public drinking water in many, many parts of the country. All toothpastes containing flouride are dangerous for little kids to ingest in any quantity besides basic use. Many little kids think it's fun to " eat " toothpaste. This can damage their teeth (I think it makes white spots in the enamel of their adult teeth, or something like that), and can make them really sick. I've seen the same warning on many tubes of toothpaste -- even the basics like Crest.
