Guest guest
Having followed the work of Professor Randall via her web page, I am happy to see the references to her work posted for our benefit. Professor Randall has given meaning to the Supreme Court’s dictum articulated in Brown v Topeka Board of Education (1954) which I paraphrase as follows: Segregation and discrimination has harmed the hearts and mind of people in a manner unlikely ever to be undone. This is at the heart and soul of institutional racism that prevails not only for the victims those who carry the scars of past practices and the daily wounds and bruises of persisting discrimination. Equally insidious is the harm sustained by modern day perpetrator of oppression who through blind righteousness sustain a sense of superiority and white privilege. Any discussion about research about or within minority communities, migrant populations included, is incomplete if Professor Randall’s work, or others who have kept this critical and transcending but easily denied reality alive.
