Hi, everyone!

Just when I thought this process was going to drag out forever, I got a call

from my insurance (BCBS - Missouri) and I am approved. It took only two

days once the letter from Dr. R. got routed to the committee!

I finished gathering all my medical records, too - so the packet is going to

be sent tomorrow. Letters and contacts are ready to go. And hubby and I

are going to the park with our digital camera to take care of the " before "

pictures.

I've got a few lingering questions . . .

(1) To those of you who do/did sleep with a CPAP - did you bring it with

you to hospital when you had your surgery. I love sleeping with mine - it

is so soothing and I sleep so well - I would really miss it!

(2) There seems to be a big debate on how much liquid we should consume on

the liquid end of the diet. We know from experience that the body needs

water to maintain the body - so it seems logical that sipping a little all

day (not at meals) makes sense. From what I've read about the creatine and

the glutamine - one of the purposes of these is to bulk up your muscles - to

protect your lean body mass . . . and that means taking them will cause

water to be diverted to the muscles - no wonder folks are complaining about

constipation. So if anyone has a definitive answer from the doctor about

liquid/water consumption after surgery, I would really like to hear what it

is.

Hope to be joining all you post-ops soon.
