Guest guest
, Did you have to pay for the gene testing? I just had Caden's DNA blood draw done Friday. We did the Ambry Genetics test. It costed me $325! His pediatrician done it but I don't think she honestly thought it was worth doing because of his neg. sweat test. She also said that it don't mean anything that he has nasal polyps! She said that a lot of people get polyps. Yea, if they are older or have severe allergies. 4 yr olds just don't come up with polyps. Caden has chronic sinusitis and NO allergies. Just wanted to let you know that we are also waiting for DNA results. Take care, Krsystena s Ambry test Thank you for the info on the Ambry test. I had a hard time getting any DNA test-- my doctor had this wrinkled, old request form from genzyme in his office that had probably been there for 2 years from the looks of it... He filled the form out wrong (he signed where I was supposed to) so I do not think they do DNA tests often. I was probably lucky to get any test. If I require further testing I will look into the Ambry test. If the test does not show even 1 mutation would you recommend further testing? Guest guest
Yes, we had to pay for the test-- I wish I would have used the Ambry Lab. The babies " poop " problem seems to be better with the new formula (Neocate) but he seems to cough more now. He had an episode today where he coughed, choked and began to turn purple. I'm not sure what is worse-- the diarrhea 10 times a day or the breathing? When he " poops " so much he tends to get dehydrated easily and doesn't gain well, but this extra coughing is not good either. I am hoping to get some answers on Thursday-- how much longer for you? My son has never been tested for allergies (except milk) I was told his symptoms started to early to be allergies? > , > > Did you have to pay for the gene testing?
