10 year old son with facial rash-last post was Swollen Lips 12-22-01

HI!

It has been 3 weeks since I last posted. My son's Ped.-Dr. saw his

face in Dec. and was " clueless?!? " He called our state hospital

(onocologist)to see what to do. (son has rare blood disease, has been

on and off chemo, all of his life; total time about 6 years.He also

has Adrenal failure due to his disease. He is on 10mg of stress

hormones daily for this. They decided that " whatever " the rash was,

his body needed x-tra stress dosage so it was tripled for 2 weeks and

an antimistine added.Also Hydrocortisone 2% cream was given.The cream

burnt his face, so we continued with the meds. It faded ever so

slowly, the dryness remained, lips stayed dry and cracked. This

morning he woke up and again, the rash is back! Red and hot to touch

as ever. Last night he had garlic? He has another appt. with the Dr.

in the morning. Should we see an Allergist or a Dermatologist first?

someone PLEASE tell me if you ever looked this way? Thanks for your
