Guest guest
Moya, I do have thoughts about this. Interestingly enough, I used to flare about 11 a.m. and/or 3 p.m. When I worked the 2 to 10 shift, I flared about 6 or 7 p.m. I thought it was related to my environment and started tracking it back in the '80s! It turns out it was related to MEALS. What I ate was causing me to flare. Breakfast showed up around 11 a.m. and lunch showed up at 3 p.m. ... you get the picture. I questioned if it was the lights, the display terminals, the computers, the air conditioning, our dirty ventilation system ... the bottom line is that the flushing followed me for many years through many jobs... without computers, without air conditioning, without florescent lighting. It was my food. I highly suggest you keep a food/symptom diary for about three or four weeks. There's a good chance a pattern will emerge. Please don't write and ask what I'm allergic to... that's not the point. You need to figure out if your diet is causing this for you. If it is, it'll be the most clear road to rosacea control you can imagine. Suzi __________________________________________________

Guest guest
This actually happens to me also. I every day around 4:00pm-5:00pm my face becomes red as a sunburn and burns. Sometimes this is also accompanied with my ears burning and getting very hot and red. This usually continues until after my workout at night, once i take a cool shower. Different days I have different levels of the severity of redness and burning. I have tried the allergy root and changed my diet, but have had no success. Some of the ways I have helped it a little, is chew on ice cubes and drink tons of water. Get enough sleep, at least 8 hours a night. Placed a fan on my desk to help cool me down. Used a cool cloth to sooth my face and ears of the hot burning sensation. I have been prescribed Metrogel by my derm, but I believe that is used to prevent papules and pustules, not combat the redness and burning. I work a fairly new building, so I do not know if it is my environment. Maybe office temperature??? > >To: rosacea-support >Subject: Enviornment >Date: Fri, 1 Feb 2002 13:13:11 -0800 (PST) > >Has anyone noticed a connection to flare-ups and >environment? Guest guest
I also have that afternoon redness and burning. I found that if I keep my blood sugar even and keep hydrated, I can avoid it. I have to have a mid-morning snack with some protein and then make sure I ahve a lunch AND a mid afternoon snack. If I didn't do this I would be absolutely flaming by dinnertime. Guest guest
I've also seen results from changing my diet/eating habits. I actually began this process to loose weight/get in shape before i found the cea support group. I started following a diet called Lean Bodies by Cliff Sheats. It empahisizes complex/NOT processed carbs, very low sugar, low saturate fats, extra essential fatty acids, lots of water and 3 meals a day with two snacks in between. I now realize that this type of eating program is essential for me, not just to maintain my energy and weight, but also to avoid flares. I haven't read the cea Diet, but it sounds like there is a lot of overlap. I've found the the WORST culprit is sugar, especially refined sugar in desserts. > I also have that afternoon redness and burning.
