Doxycycline and sun

I am currently on doxycycline (doryx), 100 mg. two days on and one day off and

am

gradually trying to lower my dosage. I live in a warm climate -- Atlanta -- and

have noticed the past couple weeks when I am outside that my nasal area

sometimes

burns and feels hot and tight. I wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunblock with a 60

spf. I also try to avoid the midday sun but sometimes am out at that time.

Last

summer I was on minocycline and had few problems; however, I know that

minocycline

does not make one as photosensitive as doxycycline. Minocycline stopped working

for me which is why I am now on doxycycline. Does this sound like rosacea

progressing or drug-induced sun sensitivity? Please don't tell me to stay

totally

out of the sun as one of my greatest pleasures in life is riding my horse.
