Guest guest
My husband is a nurse anesthetist student, when I first told him of my idea to have WLS, he said he didn't like the idea, and proceeded to open his books and quote me mortality rates. At that time I was considering the RNY. He was distracted and very concerned for my health. Here's what you don't say: " Hey it's a win /win situation,if I live, you get a thin wife> If I die you can get a thin wife! " Boy did that send him! He didn't want a thin wife he wanted me,and healthy!! I changed my tune and presented a more rational picture, knowledge based,he still didn't cre for the RNY. It was then ,by grace, I found Dr. Rutledge. We explored this site together,I asked his advice about the technique, etc. Tried to include him in the education as well as have him be the educator. We e-mailed a friend,a surgeon, to reveiw the site also. Jim was pleased with his " liking " the surgery. He began looking over my shoulder as I read the group mailings, and enjoyed my contacts' responses. By the time we went to clinic,he was pumped, even referred to this as " a peice of cake " after veiwing the surgery. Since then he's another Rutledge walking mgb infomercial! Brags about me all the time. He's very pleased with " his " decision...especially because there was no stopping me anyway! He's been great. Give him time to accept your idea.Take the resistance as a very deep compliment. He loves you very much! Osler mgb 2/21/00 272/217!
