As I mentioned in an earlier post, a file has been made re: break through medications. We are getting ready to upload a file on information needed to help make the most of your doctor's appointment. I think that many people are hesitant to share the medications they are on because we are so harassed by the doctor, pharmacists and others it hard to remember that this is a safe place for sharing, and that we are here to help each other, and no one should be subjected to ridicule or judgment. I do know that that isn't always true, because when we are hurting so much, we sometimes say things that we don't mean to. I have a health care team that provides me with whatever I need to be comfortable. On occasion I felt guilty because someone else could not get adequate pain treatment. It is difficulties we are all in constraints with the healthcare provider we see due to our insurance company or lack there of. JCAHO is serious about changing this and the PAI will assist in anyway necessary. Karyn , RN Founder / Executive Director http://www.pancassociation.org 1- / KarynWms@... Guest guest
Dear Karyn I am one of the lucky ones in the fact that my Doctor is the rock on which I lean. He is always there for me and has no problem giving me adequate pain medication as needed. I never did find out to much about what other people take its as though no one wants to say for fear of being branded a drug addict. In fact you were one of the ones that didnt respond to my question.
