Guest guest
I run the website. Were the mail links on the SCD counselors page not working? I'll go check out the links if that's the case. You can start enzymes anytime. We like the Houston Nutraceutical enzymes: http://www.houstonni.com You were asking about cooking foods. To my knowledge cooking them does not lower the phenol content. I've never seen any information that indicates that it does. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/

Guest guest
Hi Toni, > Hello, My sons stools have yet to become firm but I am working on > that.I think we may have found that he has phenol senativities. What kind of reaction is he having? >How > long do you avoid these food high in phenol? A number of people have reported that as the gut heals the phenol reactions lessen. Some are able to use phenolic foods and some can use some occasionally whereas preSCD they had to avoid them completely. >He does not like cooked > apples but does that make a difference with these types of foods? For a number of phenolic fruits and veggies the higher concentration of phenolic substances are in the peels so peeling them helps. Some even double peel the fruits and veggies taking away a layer of the pulp of the fruit/veggie to further lessen the amounts of phenols. Cooking the fruit/veg. makes them easier to digest but I don't know if it alters the phenolic content or not. >Should > I consider enzymes? Some use " No Fenol " to allow more variety in their diet. Some just avoid those foods until later. Waiting to hear from my Docter but was hoping > someone might have some answers. I went in to pecanbread to find out > about counseling but was unable to mail my request out,who would I > contact? The e-mail addresses for all the counsellors are there. If you still have trouble you can contact either Jody or myself off list and we can get the info to you. Yes another question, although my sons stools are not > formed in the last fiew days he has had a very hard stool very dark > chocolate brown and then a very soft stool dark chocolate brown in > between his very light coloured brown stools,is this a sign of > something. Did he eat anything different? New supplements/meds etc. >How do you know when there is blood? Depending on what is causing the blood you may see it laced in the stool, the stools may appear black or dark red (maroon coloured) If it is occult blood (not visible to the naked eye) that would be found through testing. Guest guest
Raw garlic is a very powerful anti-fungal, but oftentimes it's tough to get a kid to take it. Compounded Nystatin should be okay for SCD. What did you have it sweetened with? Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
