Guest guest
I went with two colleagues last Friday to the Austin Premier of this film....it was incredibly moving and seemingly true to life. After the film everyone clapped...which is a very spontaneous acclamation, everyone stayed in their seats glued to the credits and the Springsteen sound track and then participated in a 30 minute charla with the author, producer and star... Frey....the only reason we left was because the crowd for the next showing was pushing us out. I strongly recommend you find a way of seeing this film. It is a low budget production dealing with issues of illegal immigration and human smuggling and slavery that may or may not make it in the mainstream film industry....the more people that pay to see it the longer it will stay in the theaters and the greater the impact on the public.... This has the potential of advancing the issues of immigration and human smuggling just as the R. Murrow Harvest of shame advanced migrant issues in the public eye in the '60's. Please send your messages of support to Frey and forward this web site to any one you think might be interested... I will not tell you the plot....but it is in keeping with the last messages on the Research Egroup. http://www.gatekeeperFilm.com/ -- Bobbi Ryder CEO National Center for Farmworker Health 1770 FM 967 Buda, TX 78610 512-312-5453 (direct) 512-312-5451 (Assistant, Carolyn Love) 512.312.2600 (fax) http://www.ncfh.org
