Guest guest
Sara, My contacs and my dry eyes became a real problem for me . I began wearing them in 1974. I was one of the first people to develop an allergy to the extended wear contacts in 1981. They told me I could never wear soft contacs again. I moved onto gas permeable and that was fine until about nine years later when my eyes would be stuck shut (so dry) in the mornings. One healer had me put a drop of castor oil (!) in each eye before bed time and, what do you know, my eyes regained their moisture after about a year of treatment. Edgar Cayce was a big advocate of castor oil packs on the skin to facilitate healing both of the skin and of the internal organs. This healer told me that the castor oil would help repair the damaged inner lining of my eyelid. Finally, two years ago, I decided to have laser surgery on my eyes so I could eliminate my contacts which my eyes no longer tolerated. They had me put Celluvisc in each eye, morning and night for 6 weeks prior to surgery. It helped but it was not a cure. I now don't wear contacs but I still have dry eyes, especially if I sleep by a heat register that blows air. I use GenTeal eyedrops (which have very little perservative) on an as needed basis. Alida Date: Thu, 14 Mar 2002 04:13:23 -0000 Subject: blepharitis I have been using Celluvisc and daily washing of the lids for about three weeks now. I am using a CIBA vision eyescrub to wash my lids. I am not having any relief, my eyes still hate my contacts. If I wear my contacts for 6 hours, my eyes are red for two days afterwards. Any ideas on where I should go from here? The blepharitis is undercontrol by visual observation however the contact issue is really frustrating me. Thanks. __________________________________________________
