Guest guest
Dear Group, In my case, I think there is a strong connection between the immune system and rhinophyma. Remember, in rhinophyma we not only have to contend with abnormal sebaceous glands and weak & leaky veins, but the lymph vessels can also be damaged and leaky. We have more lymph vessels than blood vessels and when the lymph vessels don't function properly there can be fluid build-up and edema. I know of no doctors who treat the lymphatic component of rhinophyma, including my own. Interestingly, I have a strong family history of rhinophyma and lymphoma. Prior to rosacea, I also suffered from periodic swollen glands in my neck and under my arms. I am also very suspectible to flu's and upper respiratory infections. I am going to seek out a naturopath, hypnotist, and a lymphatic massage special to address the lymphatic component of my rosacea. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
