Guest guest
Hi, Had a consult with a photoderm Dr today who stated that he would use a filter setting of 515 for my first treatment. I seem to remember reading somewhere that this was not a good filter setting to use on rosaceans as it causes a lot of bruising. Did anyone else read this or has anyone's photoderm Dr used this setting in their treatments? Thanks, Anne
Guest guest
Hi, The 515 filter has two fundamental flaws: It is the most likely to cause burning to the skin and it is the least helpful in removing the damaged vessels that are located slightly deeper in the skin. 515 is not a good setting to use; 550 is the lowest (the highest in the skin) that most will use and even then be careful. A test patch I had at 515 a couple of years ago burnt *very* badly. Please don't go lower than 550... I would suggest you try to find another Photoderm doctor for a 2nd opinion, preferably one recommended by someone on the board. Hope this helps, . > Hi, > > Had a consult with a photoderm Dr today who stated that he would use > a filter setting of 515 for my first treatment.
