Guest guest
Hope you don't mind being singled out! My 10 month old had severe projectile vomiting last night after eating pureed chicken. (Made by me w/only salt and pepper seasoning in the large pot that it came from.) Was the pepper a big no no? I have a call in for a referral to a pediatric allergist though I know our ped recommends a *regular* allergist for his peds patients (though they have to be 12 mos. old.) Should I demand a ped allergist? It was the first time she'd had chicken. Oh and another IMPORTANT question: Should I stop eating chicken too? (She's breastfed.) I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks, Terri
Guest guest
Hi Terri, >Hope you don't mind being singled out! If it was the first time she had pepper than yes. You need to try one thing at a time to see how they are tolerated. Some people do have vomiting with die off, so that's a possibility. Since she has had rice before (10 mos old right?) this could be die off. But to play it safe I think that both of you should avoid chicken for a while. >I have a call in for a referral to a pediatric allergist though I know our ped recommends a *regular* allergist for his peds patients (though they have to be 12 mos. old.) >Should I demand a ped allergist? Since you have a 10 mos old asking for the ped allergist might be best. >It was the first time she'd had chicken. Oh and another IMPORTANT question: Should I stop eating chicken too? (She's breastfed.) It's probably best you stop at least for now. Sheila, SCD 60 mos, 22 yrs UC mom of Em and Dan
