Guest guest
My son, 15 has cystic fibrosis relatd pancreatitis. The attacks are starting to happen about every two weeks. We are going on the 8th to have a visit with Dr. Sutherland in Minnesota about a pancreatectomy. Can anyone tell me about the complications that can happen after the surgery in normal, everyday life besides taking enzymes and insulin? What are the long term problems and what about life span for someone that has had this surgery? From what little I have talked to Dr. sutherland, he thinks we should have it removed. We are also going to see the pediatric gi doc there in Minnesota. I just have this feeling we are going to get different opinions. What are the reasons we should NOT have the surgery done? Thanks!
