Guest guest
I would like to confirm that I have also had an unbelievable response from just 5 mgs/day of Roaccutane. I've been on the treatment for nearly six weeks and the nasty painful pustules I got on my face have vanished. I kept a record of progress logging every new pustule daily since the day I started the 5 mgs/day and it reads as follows: Day 1 - 1 new pustule Day 2 - 2 new pustules Day 3 - 0 new pustules Day 4 - 4 new pustules Day 5 - 0 Day 6 - 2 Day 7 - 1 Day 8 - 0 Day 9 - 1 Day10 - 0 Day11 - 2 Day12 - 2 Day13 - 2 Day14 - 2 Day15 - 3 Day16 - 0 Day17 - 0 Day18 - 0 Day19 - 0 Day20 - 1 Day21 - 0 Day22 - 0 Day23 - 0 Day24 - 0 Day25 - 0 Day26 - 1 Day27 - 2 Day28 - 0 Day29 - 0 Day30 - 0 Day31 - 0 Day33 - 0 Day34 - 0 Day35 - 1 Day36 - 0 Day37 - 0 Day38 - 0 Day39 - 0 You can see from above that from Day15 to Day39 (today) I've had only 5 new pustules (in 24 days) and they were small and unlike the monsters I had before going on low dose Roaccutane. I have become easier to live with recently as well since I've regained self confidence which my skin condition eroded. I was treated with the full dose of Roaccutane back in 1988 for acne and it cleared it up in three weeks then. Two years ago I developed a rosacea that resembled acne and had been treated with all the acne medications until I went to the dermatologist who told me I did not have acne now but rosacea. He said that if it is rosacea then it should respoond quickly to the a low dose of 5 mgs/day. And bingo! he was right. My blood tests have been within normal expected levels so I'll be continuing with this treatment for some time yet. I've also noticed my face and forehead is less oily than before and my skin feels smooth and cleaner than it's been in the past two years. I've also of course been careful with the amount of alcohol I consume, avoid sitting near radiators or in front of open fires and avoiding hot steamy environments. Hope this information is of use to cea sufferers who get those ugly pustules. I would advise them to discuss this treatment with their dermatologist as it may be suitable for them too.
