Guest guest
Dear All, I have received several questions asking for clarification on my use of aloe. What is so clear in my mind is sometimes difficult to convey to others. Thank you for the opportunity to " practice " my communication skills : ) Aloe gel is extremely unstable so must be stablized with chemicals. Aloe has salicyclic acid in it and is very drying to the skin. The combination of salicycic acid, drying effect and increased blood circulation is good for reducing scars and wounds but i did not want that long term effect for my face as it seemed counterproductive for my particular case of rosacea. I used aloe straight from the plant to avoid additives/preservatives/stabilizers. I started with aloe right after my shower because the pain, heat and burning was unbearable. Once this set of symptoms subsided i tackled the next set: recurrent pustules, red bumps with spider veins and crusty stuff around the edges of my nose. When this set was gone my primary focus was the inflammatory response evidenced by visible tiny veins which made my face red when i was overheated, stressed, anxious or embarrassed. I think the thing about rosacea is that we all have a mindset that one product will cure it all. cea is a complex skin symptom and actually needs to be evaluated day by day. On a day when i see that i have that upper lip bump coming back i use grapeseed extract and almond oil and finally at night the herbal ed's salve. Two days pass and all is well. I tackle the little problems now before i have three or four different symptoms to treat all at once. Last week for the first time in years someone told me i have a beautiful complexion...i almost cried because it was an indicator that what i am doing is working and not just my overactive imagination! To me that is the secret to success with rosacea symptoms...there is no magical cure. It requires a return to vitality from the inside out. I focused on digestive health to revisit my vitality. Hasta, Herbler...if i still have not made myself clear please do ask more questions...consider it a favor.
