Guest guest
> > it seems like most of you , especially those with mild to moderate rosacea have flushing that is usually trigger-related . why is my skin so ODD!! < < I don't know if this will help you or not, but since I have been getting photofacials and going back for " touch-ups " when needed, my flushing for no apparent reason has almost disappeared. I assume the IPL somehow helped? I blush or flush for known reasons, now - and not very often, either! > > what is a good moisturizer that will soothe flakes and dryness?? the flaking , tightness and itchiness that comes and goes is driving me nuts. but it's hard to find good info in the archives when u have really basic search terms like " flakiness " and " moisturizer " etc. and a million posts come up. =) so if anyone has more good advice thanks in advance < < I had the flakiness you describe on my forehead off and on for years. I finally realized that it seemed to be an extension of the flakes (seborrhea) on my scalp. I did not like the Nizoral shampoo or any of the others I tried - and they were expensive. I bought a ZNP bar and began to use it a few times a week and it cleared my scalp quickly - and left my hair really soft and nice, also. (It was weird to use a bar of soap to wash my hair, but it really is a good shampoo!) Once my scalp was clear of flakes, my forehead began to respond to the moisturizers I was using. I bought a moisturizer from Merlot Skin care that has grapeseed oil in it (among other things that do not seem to bother my skin at all) and I put some of that on after a drop or two of the Sy Oil. The Merlot cream contains titanium dioxide, also, so has sunblock properties as well. It comes in a very large jar for about 15 dollars or so, which is pretty inexpensive and so not too scarey to try. You can order from the website or Walgreen's carries it. They make an eye cream I like, too. I have not tried their cleanser, as I think I will stick with Olay for sensitive skin cloths, which exfoliate just enough without irritation. My forehead looks great at this point! So..... what worked for me was controlling the flaking in my scalp with the inexpensive ZNP bar... which controlled it on my forehead... which, in turn, allowed my moisturizer to moisturize and eradicate the flakes. (And they don't come back as long as I keep my scalp clear!) Hope that will work for you! Jackie www.merlotskincare.com/
