Guest guest
I just got back from my derm appointment (with my original derm). I brought up about how it seemed very strange to me that I had developed the Seb derm, perioral derm, weird acnestuff, eczema, rashes, intolerances, etc all at once, and asked for possible underlying causes. I mentioned yeast and digestional disorders. He told me both were possibilities, but he didn't think they were my problem. He said unfortunately there was no way to test for them. I have alot of red bumps, but only two pustules, and he said to get a proper yeast test I'd need to have 50 or 60. For digestional tests he referred me to my primary care doc. Overall, I have to be honest, I was extremely impressed with how thoughtful my derm was today. It seemed like a huge change from normal. He answered every question I had very thoughfully, even though I kept him in the room for 35 minutes. It was much different than what I was used to. Unfortunately I dont feel like I had a whole lot more answers now than I did before. I still dont know what the problem is. He said what ties all my problems together is they're all caused by Sebacious Gland dysfunction. He said there's really no way to fix this. He mentioned that in my particular case maybe my problem is being caused by some kind of adrenal gland problem (which is actually the first thing the naturopath i saw said to me the other day) but probably not, and that there wasnt a test for this either, just alot of clinical guesswork. To top things off part of whats on my forehead is called Keratosis Pilaris (which I think is what I was given the Novacet for, but I am not sure), which means my list of facial skin disorders is now up to I believe seven My derm went out of his way today to be helpful to the best of his abilities, but I almost feel more helpless than before. Is my problem just a naturally occurring Sebacious gland disorder with no known cause or cure? That would kinda suck! Anyway, I guess there's no real point to this message... Just sorta a synapsis of what happened today. If anyone has any advice as far as what my next step should be in treating this skin stuff, I'd love to hear it, cuz I feel kinda stuck.
