Guest guest
I have been a member for awhile. I have struggled and cried and have hated this disease. I am on many pain killers yet still have small attacks. This summer my bowls stopped working and I had to have emergancy surgery. I had 18 inches of mt bowl out and now have a colostomy. I thought that I have read that Dr. Lehman has saved a great deal of peoples lives. I am not too excited that you see him on one day and then the next day he performs an ercp. I always get pancreatitis afterwards. If anyone knows anything about him I would love to know as much info as possible......Thanks for all your wisdom Paget
Guest guest
Paget, Hi, and welcome. I went to Dr. Lehman in June for a consult then the following day for an ERCP. He was wonderful. I too have panc divisum and CP... and yes after the ERCP I was sick, but I was sick before hand too. He not only found that I had panc divisum, but that I had SOD. I ended up with a spincterotomy and stent in my panc duct. I think it did help some, because my sugar is in much better control now, but I still have pain, panc pain mostly. He really is a very caring doctor, he even came to the gift shop to find me when he missed me in my room so he could see how I looked before they let me leave. He asked me repeatedly if I was sure I was ok and walked with me out to the pick up/drop off area. During the consultation he told me of the dangers of having the ERCP because of my weight, and he told me all about the procedure and made me feel quite comfortable. He gave me the option of having the ERCP or coming back in a few months after being on a strict diet... I chose to have it done then. He made me feel like he was looking out for my best interests. You will get to meet one of his nurse practitioners (Mine was Joyce...she was an Angel!!) and they are the ones that come in for your after care and to talk to you before you meet Dr. Lehman. I have to tell you everyone, that I had contact with at the hosptial, was wonderful! Right down to the ladies at the registration area. They were all very polite and caring. I left there knowing that if I got half way home and ended up sick I could go back and get treatment with no problems. (Unfortunately its a 4 hour trip so I can't go there everytime I get sick... darn the luck!) But they have always been prompt in returning my calls, and I feel comfortable going back for any other procedures I may require in the future. I hope that this has been of some help to you , sorry is so long and drawn out, but I felt like I needed to tell you the whole experience. Best Wishes and {{{HUGZ}}} ---------------------------------
