This an excellent question to which I have not found an answer. is

asking for the not-so-obvious answer; i.e., not connected with the CF gene.

In other words, is pancreatitis associated with a genuine immune response,

like arthritis or immuno-suppresive diseases? (Obviously it's not an

immuno-suppressive disease, but certainly gives symptoms in a similar

fashion.)

Good question, . Let's hope someone knows something.

I'm not saying you have lupus, but lupus cannot be totally ruled out on the

basis of one blood test. Lupus is a tricky disease (as are many autoimmune

disorders). You can have what's called serum negative lupus, which means you

never have a positive ANA. (although 95% of people with lupus eventually have a

positive ANA)You can also have times when the ANA is positive, only to find it's

negative the next time checked. Also, just having a positive ANA doesn't mean

you have lupus

I have lupus and my rheumie says she believes my pancreatitis is related to

lupus. The GI says it's not, so who knows?

autoimmune disease?

Hi.

Does anyone know of a link between pancreatitis and some type of

autoimmune response. I was at MUSC for my appt with and spoke

with her about my medical history and if any of it actually be caused

by an autoimmune response. In addition to the pancreatitis, I have

asthma and interstital cystitis had endocarditis and I believe

arthritis. My hands turn red, swell, hurt. Also my right shoulder

still hurts following the infection in my pacer pocket (that was on

the right also) I do not have lupus, I was tested for it years ago.

but I am wondering if I do not have some type of autoimmune process

going on. I still spike temps at night.. worse if I have been active.

If I stay in bed I don't get them. They haven't gotten above 101.5

but 100.6- 101.0 is common. I've had to go back to using the

Duragesic patches this past week. I was awakened last Wed. with

that " big pain from the sky " I had to get in a hot shower and find

the oxycotin to get some relief. I had an appt with my shrink the

next day and I couldn't even stand upright. I was walking all hunched

over. I couldn't cancel becasue I needed meds and wanted to be seen

before the new deductible kicks in Jan 1. Anyway, I'm rambling now I

was just wondering if anyone had any information about autoimmune

diseases and pancreatitis. Thanks.
